DISCOVER KABE vol05

今回突然お邪魔させていただいたのは
広島文教大学の最寄駅 中島駅からほど近い『L. Crew Cafe』

On our latest trip to Kabe we checked out a more modern space than on our previous excursions, L.Crew Cafe near Nakashima Station on the Kabe Line.

 

大きな窓から差し込む光で店内も明るく、店内の緑にとても癒されます。
お昼前から子供連れのお母さんや大学生で賑わいます。

ランチは日替わりから単品、カフェまで楽しめ、メニューが豊富です。

L. Crew Cafe is a bright space with large windows and a calming indoor garden space that offers lunches, and wide a la carte menu as well as drinks and sweets. On lunchtime visit, the place was full of a mix of chatty mothers and their children local college students.

そんな素敵なL Crew Cafeにお勤めの店長の門田さんは
なんと！広島文教女子大学の卒業生でした！

Chatting with the friendly shop manager Kadota-san we soon learned that she was actually a Hiroshima Bunkyo University graduate!

学生時代によく行っていた近所のお好み焼き屋さんや、

学生寮で過ごした思い出話などを伺うことができました。

地元は愛媛で、大学から広島に移り住み、今やすっかり広島人。

She recommended us a local okonomiyaki shop that she used to eat at when she was a student here and reminisced about her college days. Originally from Ehime she decided to stay in Hiroshima after graduation and is now ver much a “Hiroshima local”.

夜はカフェ兼バーにもなるので、在学時代から顔見知りの大学の先生方もよく遊びに来られるのだとか＾＾
近くには学生アパートもあるので、夜は在学生の方も働かれているそうです。

She said it’s nice to see some of her former teachers who sometimes pop into L. Crew in the evenings for coffee or drinks.

大学の近くにこんな憩いの場所があるって素敵ですね。

It’s pretty cool to have such a nice spot in which to take a break  so near to to our school.
